Follow in the footsteps of the first French and Francophone settlers, from the small village of Yerba Buena to the time when San Francisco was known as the “Paris of the Pacific.”
You will learn about pioneers, founders, merchants, and community leaders who helped shape the city. This tour offers a new perspective on San Francisco and reveals fascinating stories of ambition, resilience, and success.
The walk begins at Union Square and ends in Jackson Square — one of the few neighborhoods that survived the Great Fire of 1906. This historic area once housed wine cellars, elegant residences, and the French Consulate.
