Conditions for Exhibiting

Each exhibition can be held for a period of a month minimum and up to 6 months.
The artist must install the artwork, if the space is available during the week preceding the opening to the public, and remove artwork on the last day of the exhibition period.
The artist does not intend to request its return before the end of this term.
Any cancellation in the month preceding the exhibition without having a serious reason (ie problem of visa, disease, … ), will be subject to a $500 penalty.

The artist must submit a preview of all the artwork to be exhibited at least two months prior, unless otherwise arranged, to the first day of the exhibition. The Museum reserves the right to decline any artwork it deems offensive, and/or not otherwise fitting or compatible with the overall nature and environment of the Francophone Museum and/or Alliance Française of San Francisco.
The artist must submit a statement of the artwork that will be accompanying the pieces during the exhibition at least one month prior to the Opening night.
The artist shall be responsible for delivering the artwork in “ready for hanging” condition.
Artist must clearly identify each work with the title, medium, price, and date when hanging each piece.
The artist warrants that the artwork is the original creation of the artist, and is not in violation of any copyright, trademark or other similar laws and regulations.

The Alliance Française of San Francisco does not accept any responsibility for the loss, damage or theft of consigned works during the duration of the contract. Artists will arrange their own insurance over their work against loss, damage or theft.
The organization of Packing and transportation is solely the responsibility of the Artist. The alliance Francaise has a very small team and cannot manage this for the artist.
The responsibility for the cost of packing, insurance, installation and transportation of artwork to and from the Alliance Française of San Francisco will be borne by the artist.
The artist agrees to deliver the artwork to the exhibit location at a specified time and date to be determined at prior to the exhibit by the Alliance Française of San Francisco.

The artist will be solely responsible for the organization, catering (food and drink) and operation of all facets of an Opening night with costs borne by them (date of the Opening night to be determined by the Francophone Museum).
The artist must be personally present for the Art opening night

The Francophone Museum publicizes the exhibition and the reception through the website, newsletter, and social media. Additional promotion such as posters and postcards, are the responsibility and at the discretion of the artist.
For communication purposes : artist's statement, resume, high resolution images of work to be exhibited, a brief description of work or body of work, and any quotes or statements that the artist would like to make about the exhibition, should be send via email at least 45 days prior to the exhibition dates, following the exact requirements below.

All the following documents and pictures MUST be transmitted inside one unique folder either via google drive or Wetransfer and sent to museum@francophonemuseum.org, at least 45 days before the exhibition :
Picture of the artist
Bio of the artist including your website if you have one
Title and presentation of the exhibition
One picture to be used as cover photo named cover picture (duplicate of one of the pictures below)
One picture of each art piece that will be exhibited, each named with the title of the piece in either .jpg or .png no other format
A document either pdf, google doc or google sheet with the list of the art pieces including all the following information for each art piece:
Picture of the art piece (a link to the picture in google sheet and google drive is also acceptable)

Media
Dimensions
Price or add not for sale/ sold

The Francophone Museum retains 20 % of the listed selling price of any and all artwork sold during the course of the exhibition. The Francophone Museum staff receives and processes full payment for artwork sold, and distributes the remaining 80 % to the artist at the end of the exhibition.
The only donations boxes authorized in the premises are from and for the Alliance Française of San Francisco and the Francophone Museum.
